Renewable energy is a global goal. Even the regions rich in petrochemical resources are interested in the expansion of energy sources for future generations. MemPro is dedicated to working with developers of renewable energy to apply nCATfiber technology where it offers efficiency and cost savings.

Nanotechnology and renewable energyThe production of synthetic fuels is one area of application. Synthetic fuels require significant chemical processing, and the use of efficient catalysts can reduce production costs.

Another application under investigation in the laboratory is the production of hydrogen as a fuel using ceramic nanofibers. While this is a confidential, early stage research project, MemPro’s ability to manufacture high quality ceramic nanofibers brings this opportunity closer to reality.

Heat recovery and conversion into electricity takes advantage of otherwise lost energy in the form of heat from combustion. Examples of lost heat are engine exhaust, burning of coal and other hydrocarbons to make electricity, industrial smoke stacks, heat from furnaces in steel making and ceramic operations (sintering and calcining) and heat lost from residential and commercial buildings. MemPro is interested in collaborations focused on these and other applications as research in the use of ceramic nanofibers progresses.
